Windows of Wondering explores the tension between memory and the possibility of the present moment.
It captures the quiet transformation of growing up in a regional neighbourhood, where change moves slowly, and memories are re-woven over time.
Through photography, poetry and interactive photo-based sculptures, the series investigates the potential of walking old paths to revisit memories and build a deeper connection to place.
Highlighting ordinary details found in familiar places through the remnants of an active childhood imagination, it acts as a love letter to the small details that make a neighbourhood a place of wonder and comfort.
The works reveal glimpses of gateways and portals, hint at alternate realities and explore the convergence of space and time through memory. Using photography to engage with and recapture this childlike wonder is a mindful process of slowing down, paying closer attention and growing a deeper connection to the present.
Exhibited at Wagga Wagga Art Gallery as a part of the Regional Artist Development (RAD) program, 2023.
